Prince was the STAR of the show at his birthday at the Alamo Drafthouse and he definitely deserved a red carpet extravaganza! For his birthday, Prince helped raise funds for A Fair Shake for Youth, a non-profit organization where he volunteers and helps underserved NYC kids with self esteem and anti bullying. In Prince’s own words, "I know I look a little different but I like that because I attract kids who feel they are different...I get to show them that different or not, we are stars just the same". Prince is truly an inspiration and we were thrilled to be part of his special day!
Prince and his friends arrived in style as they hit the red carpet to kick off his star studded birthday celebration. Each pup received a custom star with their name on it, just like a Hollywood celebrity! These pups were dressed to impress, and definitely unleashed their pawsitively fabulous poses.
Following the red carpet, guests proceeded into the movie theatre for a private showing of the classic pup favorite film, Beethoven. They snacked on pupcorn and treats while sitting back and enjoying the special movie screening. Some pups also opted to take a break from the film to get some air outside on the private roofdeck reserved for the pawty which had spectacular views of downtown Brooklyn.
We were excited to be joined by a special guest -- Audrey Hendler, Founder of A Fair Shake for Youth -- who spoke about the important work Prince and the program are doing for NYC children, a cause that is near and dear to Prince’s heart.
To wrap up the evening, friends and family sang Happy Birthday to Prince and enjoyed a special pup-friendly peanut butter and carrot birthday cake from our Barkery. The cake was a huge hit and had pups coming back for seconds.
Truly a spectacular evening! Guests gave the event four paws up and were thrilled to celebrate Prince and all the wonderful work he is doing. Thank you to Prince and his family, A Fair Shake for Youth and the Alamo Draft House, who were all a pleasure to work with on this once in a lifetime event.
